Over Air-conditioned Office? Guide To Staying Warm & Stylish

5 Pieces To Keep You Warm & Stylish

Who else feels like they walk into a freezer when they get to work? Like no joke, my fingers go numb from the air blasting on them!

Here is the dilemma: It’s a face-melting 95 degrees outside and a “Center-of-the-Arctic” 55 degrees in your office. So what do you do beyond leaving a parka in your office? And really?! This is in LA! So what do you wear to NOT shake uncontrollably, yet still look cute, stylish, and professional? I’ve rounded up 5 amazing options, and trust me… this is from first hand trial and error experience:

The Slouchy Boyfriend Blazer

It is big enough to throw over anything and will keep you warm while still looking finished and polished. Plus you can roll the sleeves up so they don’t get in the way of typing, presenting or directing a meeting! And bonus…they give you room to breathe and move around.

EXTRA BONUS- adding a different color blazer to any outfit completely changes the look. Outfit repeat! J Shhh…our little secret. No one will notice.

Found at Nordstrom [$74] – check out all the bright colors too!

The Long, Modern Cardigan

This one has lightweight, breathable material making this extra-long duster the closest thing to wearing an actual bathrobe–but in a chic way. Scrunch up the sleeves to show a little skin.

Found it for a steal at BCBGMAXAZRIA – [$55.80]

The Oversized Pullover

Nothing says comfy like a giant V-neck, but to keep it office-appropriate, look for neutral hues and a pretty, feminine shape. You’ll still want your shift dresses, pencil skirts and tapered trousers to peek out beneath.

DKNY ($97) **It’s on SALE! It was originally $194.

The Flowy Kimono

OK, technically not a sweater. But if your office is more laid-back and less “Artic frigid”, layer up with a breezy cover-up. It looks especially polished over colorful outfits and because it is a solid white color it could also go nicely with printed fabrics. To be honest, a white kimono could go with anything.

Found @ Showpo [$41] The Lightweight Cape

This is my personal favorite… and only $40! I keep it hanging over the back of my work chair. You don’t need to worry about putting your arms through anything. You simply just cape it over and you are warm. It is amazing. Plus you feel like superwoman!

ASOS [$40]

Extra bonus… Sounds idiotic when it’s pushing 100 degrees everywhere outside, but who doesn’t like a little heat under your desk? Right?! Get a heater and put it under your desk. It will keep your legs warm while all of these sweaters keep your upper body warm! Works magic!

Jess
