I have a protein shake pretty much every morning because this shake really gets me moving and grooving. I normally have it about 30 minutes before I work out (I am a morning workout person) and it gives me just enough energy without making me feel to full. We all know working out on a full stomach is ‘No Bueno’. Quick little fact, it is very important to have protein pre-workout for many reasons, it will fuel your muscles, help you burn more calories, give you long lasting energy and speed up the fat-burning process. Not only does my Morning Shake consist of protein, which is great to have first thing in the morning, but I also mix in a cup of coffee. I don’t know about you, but I need my caffeine in the morning.
Here is how I concoct my coffee and chocolate protein “Moovin & Groovin” Morning shake!
Like any protein shake, you can vary what you put in it based on your personal preference but this is a good base to start with.
“Moovin & Groovin” Protein Shake
1 cup coffee
1/2 cup original unsweetened Coconut milk (Simple Truth)
1 scoop/serving chocolate protein powder (I just bought egg white protein powder to try something new because I normally go for soy or whey and I LOVE it so far!)
1 cup of ice
Blend all ingredients in a blender and enjoy!
Based on your protein powder and the milk you use, the calorie count will vary but mine is about 150 calories.
